COURSE SUMMARY

PUAFER003 – Manage and Monitor Facility Emergency Procedures, Equipment and other Resources teaches the skills and knowledge required to manage and monitor facility emergency prevention and control structures for a complex facility or defined group of facilities such as a building, structure or workplace, as specified in Australian Standard (AS) 3745 and AS 4083.

If you are members of an Emergency Planning Committee (EPC) or a person required to manage problems and resolve issues in relation to the organisation’s facility emergency prevention process and emergency control structures, then this course is a must for you.

This unit involves managing problems and resolving issues in relation to the organisation’s facility emergency prevention process and emergency control structures. This unit has been developed to cover the broad range of emergencies and facilities as considered in Australian Standard 3745-2010.

• Manage emergency control equipment
• Record and report emergency control equipment and faults
• Monitor emergency control structures

RECERTIFICATION

Participants are required to re-certify every 2 years from their completion date to maintain currency.

COURSE DELIVERY

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an ERT Rescue Group Pty Ltd training facility.

COURSE DURATION (FACE TO FACE)

• Face to Face – 3 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
• Refresher training – 3 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates

WORK PLACEMENT ARRANGEMENTS

No work placement arrangements will be required as part of this course

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Participants are required to be physically able to manage and monitor workplace emergency procedures and checking emergency control equipment for useability and accessibility.

There are no prerequisites for this unit.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE COURSE?

ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

Performance tasks – The assessor must observe the following performance tasks:

• Identify and implement emergency protection systems and equipment
• Monitor and review emergency control structures

Documentation – The student must complete the following to the appropriate standard:

• Workplace emergency checklist
• Workplace emergency plan review report

Case study – The student must complete the following written case study:

• Review safe work practices and plans

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.

*Please note that ERT Fire & Rescue supplies all equipment necessary for you to undertake your training. ERT Fire & Rescue always recommend and encourage you to bring along your own equipment. Trainee’s must wear appropriate clothing that will get dirty and enclosed footwear is essential.
